FSCC August Gathering

Hello FSCC Folks

Our August First Saturday Cars & Coffee (FSCC) gathering will be on Saturday, August 2 at our regular location, the Blue Grass Stockyards Regional Marketplace located at 4561 Iron Works Pike, Lexington, KY 40511. We will meet at the regular time of 9-11am. As usual, thanks to our sponsors there will be no fee for attending our family friendly event. Our sponsors will be providing the first 50 cups of coffee and donuts free at our gathering room inside the Marketplace. Thanks also to our continuing sponsors, Wildcat Moving, Pie Five Pizza and the Blue Grass Stockyards/Marketplace for making our gatherings possible. Also, remember out of respect for our sponsors and the other attendees, we do not need speed shots or donuts on the asphalt. The event is hosted by Cadre Prime LLC. Note that this is a rain or sunshine event.

At our August 2 gathering we will again have a free drawing provided by Pie Five for five pizzas. In addition, we have a new business MotorVault, in Lexington that will have a display tent in the show lot. MotorVault provides a new and very neat concept in car storage with the optional benefits of a members-only lounge. Features of this facility include: On Site Mechanic, On Site Detailing, Podium F1 Simulators, Golf Simulators, a Cigar Lounge and possibly more! Be sure and check these folks out at their tent.

We had beautiful weather at our July 5 gathering. We had over 170 cars attend. Just a quick summary for now, you can check out the cars on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.721919547249775&type=3.
It was neat seeing six Vipers and a prowler all together. Way too many makes to count. Great presence by the Porsche, Corvette, and Motorheads clubs. Super neat having the Kentucky region Audi club visit for the first time. Tony Dehner’s Aston Martin DB5 was a heart stopper!!

Despite weather concerns over the July 19 Weekend all the Keeneland Concours events were well attended including the Hangar Bash, the Concours, and the Sunday Drive. It was touch and go with the weather and we did see a dip in the Concours Paddock attendance. However, we had record breaking results. I’m not an avid car aficionado, but I am a long-time car club member and belong to five car clubs. We initiated the Keeneland Concours concept in 2003 to provide an event that brings the car community together. We started the Paddock Challenge in 2005 as a means to provide healthy competition between our car clubs and to generate funds for our charity the Kentucky Children’s Hospital. We continue to do both. Some highlights from our 2025 event follow:

1) Despite the fact that our Paddock attendance of 259 cars was the second lowest in 20 events, and only 58% of our 2024 number, our donation of $17,406 was 94% of last year’s record amount.

2) This year’s competition between club giving from the fourteen clubs was raucous and exciting. It was a bitter pill when the Sterling British Club, winner of the three previous Challenge Trophies, lost to the Porsche Club’s $6,824 by a total of $292!!

3) The Sterling British Club did win the Paddock Plaque with a record breaking $435/car. This was significantly more than the previous record of $115/car.

4) We were also very humbled to see the Corvette Club’s donation of $1,060 directed to the memory of Cathy Fosson. Cathy was a super supporter of car events and Keeneland Concours events were her favorite.
Get the latest on these and other local events by attending our monthly FSCC gatherings. We are glad to publicize local events at our gatherings. We also encourage advertising at our gatherings with approval prior to the gathering. You can contact me at c2xhbnQgfCB0d2MgISBjb20=.

Come on out and play in the ‘Yard’.
