A Thousand Words: Reading & Illustrator Panel

The Department of Arts & Culture will host a new book reading and artist panel discussion at the Centro de Artes Gallery on Thursday, August 7 from 6 – 8 p.m., an ancillary event for the exhibition A Thousand Words: The Power of Pictures in Books. Exhibition co-curator Xelena González will moderate a special conversation with artists Adriana M. Garcia and Jose Sotelo Yamasaki. The Guadalupe Latino Bookstore will be on-site to host a pop-up sale featuring books from the exhibition. Each guest will receive a free copy of the exhibition catalog. The event is free and open to all. This is the third and final ancillary event for the exhibit, which closes on Sunday, August 17, 2025. The Centro de Artes Gallery is located at 101 S. Santa Rosa Street in Historic Market Square and is free and open to the public Wednesday – Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5:00 p.m.
