EKLEKTIKA is an instrumental trio from Riga, Latvia, featuring drummer Kārlis Roberts Kalējs, saxophonist Rūdolfs Pēteris Rubenis, and clarinetist Artūrs Bariss. The musicians often describe themselves as “drums with two horns.”
Due to its unusual lineup, the band has developed a distinctive sound, enriched by experiments with effects and the blending of various musical genres. The trio’s soundscapes feature meditative jazz improvisation, funk, fusion, as well as elements of progressive rock, Eastern music, and psychedelia. In their live performances, EKLEKTIKA takes the listener on a musical journey through a wide range of sounds and frequencies, allowing each person to experience the music in their own unique way.
At the end of last year, the band released their debut album "Encounters", which has already received recognition beyond Latvia’s borders and was nominated for the Latvian Public Media cultural award in the STARTS category during the winter voting round. The album is available on Spotify, Bandcamp, and other streaming platforms.
