Many of our Members enjoyed an amazing visit on our bus trip to the famed Longwood Gardens last Christmas. We are very excited to bring their conservatory manager Karl Gercens as our November speaker, co-hosted with the Annapolis Horticulture Society.
Our Members and Guests on the bus trip saw firsthand the truly jaw-dropping conservatory displays in the Longwood Conservatories, both historic and modern, and we're excited to learn more about what happens behind the scenes to make these arrangements possible.
Come enjoy refreshments, lively company, and an evening of learning with our Members at our very own Cape Clubhouse.
"Everyone loves a behind-the-scenes visit, but when you canβt get to the garden, then we bring the stories to you! Letβs join Karl Gercens as he shares the five seasons of the Longwood Conservatory and how dramatically difference each one is. We will see some of the major display installations and the detailed planting combinations that accompany them. It takes a small army of staff students and volunteers to create the magic that we experience each time we visit. Karl will touch on the challenges and how he overcomes them as well as the unexpected surprises that come with and ever changing Display. There will certainly be some take-home messages from this presentation that each person can apply to their own garden.β
