Threshing Days

As the final step of a long harvesting process, threshing the grain harvest would separate the grain from the plant. In the 19th century, this was the climax of an entire growing season's efforts. Now is your chance to join our farm hands in this time-honored tradition by helping to bring grain bundles from the fields and thresh the grain. After bagging up the grain, enjoy a rest on the porch with a glass of lemonade or explore how wheat and flour are used in the historic house kitchen. Then head to the Farm Lab to discover how grain is harvested and processed today.
