(Tsai Ming-liang, 2024, Taiwan/USA, 79 minutes)

The official synopsis for Tsai Ming-liang’s Abiding Nowhere is as follows: “The tenth Walker film takes place in Washington DC. Two lonely souls on separate journeys, sometimes crossing paths but never once meeting. Nothing happens between them. There is no story. Their walking journeys are like a meditative prayer of heart and soul.” What the official synopsis doesn’t spell out is that seeing a Walker film, especially on the big screen, can be a truly transcendent, near religious experience. Starring Lee Kang-sheng and Anong Houngheuangsy, both of Tsai’s Days.

Our screenings of Abiding Nowhere will be “pay what you wish” admission.
