Hey it's Finn,
I'm making my way down to Wellington next month and would love to FINALLY screen Theo Taylor's wonderful documentary 'What A Way To Make A Living' for all you hometown pals, as well as play some songs live for you on piano and guitar, hopefully lots of brand new ones.
In case you're in the dark about the doco, me and Theo joined forces in 2023 and put on a 20-odd date tour of NZ and Europe, which as well as duo shows included putting together 3(!) different full band lineups - one NZ band, one Irish band full of my friends, and one German band full of Theo's friends. What ensued is in my opinion a beautifully executed look at the, shall we say, unique way I conduct my music career, spanning Ireland, Germany and the Czech Republic. Theo not only played drums and guitar in my bands and helped manage the tour, he somehow found the time to take dozens of hours of footage which he lovingly crafted into this film.
The screening and performance will take place on the first floor of Wellington's famous creative hub, 13 Garrett Street.
Doors 7pm
Documentary screening + Q&A 7:30pm
Finn Johansson live 8:45pm
