Award-winning poet and songwriter Todd Hearon takes the new Word Barn Meadow stage with a full band featuring Lindsay Garfield, Andrew Blowen, Alex Keenan, Ralph Sneeden, Jake Davis and Rick Habib. The new Americana combo Big Sweetie opens the night.

Todd Hearon is a New Hampshire-based independent singer-songwriter, living in Exeter, born in Texas, raised in North Carolina, in the indie rock/Americana/alt-country/folk vein. His first album, BORDER RADIO (2021), was featured in AMERICAN SONGWRITER and Boston’s SKOPE magazine and listed as “Best Seacoast Music” of 2021 in SEACOAST ONLINE. Of the songs, the latter wrote, “Todd Hearon is proof that good folkin’ country singers still walk among us. Somewhere from the great beyond, Townes Van Zandt has happened on Todd's tunes . . . and felt his cheeks go flush with envy.” SKOPE echoed, “Poetry and song, ever old friends, meet again and merge in every line of BORDER RADIO.” He has since released two albums--YODELADY (2023) and IMPOSSIBLE MAN (2024)--completing the trilogy. MAVERICK magazine listed IMPOSSIBLE MAN in their “Top Picks” feature and wrote, “Hearon’s voice comes through as a singular tone in country . . . [He] channels Nick Cave on his vocal line and skill in spinning a story . . . a series of vignettes that encapsulate perfectly every subject that Hearon approaches.” EUPHONY magazine writes, "Todd Hearon is an artist who can captivate you deeply if you let him," while A&R FACTORY (UK) labeled Hearon "a diamond in the digitised rough.”

The new Seacoast combo Big Sweetie mixes wide-ranging influences from country, folk and blues to jazz, R&B and rock n’ roll to form a truly eclectic Americana band.
