Bryan Creer & Valmai Goodyear are running concertina - and any melody instrument - part-playing sessions at Whitby Folk Week in the Rugby Club. The timetable is below. Bryan is about to put the music up on the Spare Parts Band website http://www.sparepartsband.co.uk/SPTunes.php. You can download it in midi, pdf and Noteworthy Composer form. The arrangements will suit any melody instrument. Feel free to have a go at them whether you are coming to Folk Week or not.
You can also email Valmai for copies of the arrangements: valmaigoodyear[at]aol[dot]com.
We have five practice sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. all at 10:00 β 11:20 in the Rugby Club. We expect to be taking two sets of the arranged tunes we've worked on to the final workshop concert on Friday in the Spa Pavilion Hall). These are Del Caro's Hornpipe / The Hornet and Galopede (on its own). Taking part in that concert isnβt compulsory - the main idea is to enjoy playing the arrangements together.
To provide variety we'll also play an extra, easier arrangement most days but we're not aiming to get those ready for performance unless people particularly want to do them.
The practice schedule will be as follows -
Monday Event 122
Del Carol's Hornpipe / The Hornet
Additional tune: Tollhurst
Tuesday Event 208
Galopede
Additional tune: Mary Ellen Waltz
Wednesday Event 292
Del Carol's Hornpipe / The Hornet
Additional tune: Mr. Beveridge's Maggott
Thursday Event 374
Galopede
Additional tune: Sun Assembly
Friday Event 453
Both sets in preparation for the workshop showcase concert in the afternoon:
Galopede
Del Carol's Hornpipe / The Hornet
