Epic Engineering - STEM activity

Come and join us on Diglis Island for a 90-minute session to learn about its construction and then work in teams to do a hands-on STEM activity, using engineering principles to design a model to help the fish. The session is lead by Canal & River Trust Explorers.

+View the weir that was created in the 1840s to aid trade and navigation.
+Watch the animated ‘shadventure’ film about the weirs and fish passes.
+Complete a team challenge to make a fish pass.
+Take a fish poster home with you.

Tickets cost £5 per child taking part in the activity and adults go free (with the paying child). Children will work in groups of up to 5 children to complete the STEM activity.

All children taking part in the activity must have a place booked and adults are responsible for their children at all times.

If it is a morning session, why not bring a picnic with you and stay on the Island a little bit longer (30 minutes), or if it's an afternoon session, arrive at 12:30pm and picnic beforehand.

Please note that this does not include a visit to the fish pass or viewing gallery.
