Backyard Birds : Hand-building

In this hands-on Backyard Birds Workshop, you'll discover the joy of hand-building pottery. Perfect for beginners, this course requires no prior experience.

You’ll be guided through the fundamental techniques of pottery hand-building:

Double pinch pots

Coils

Slabs

These techniques will allow you to construct a unique, personalized ceramic bird. Once your sculpture is complete, you'll have the opportunity to add vibrant color using underglazes.

After the workshop, Firebrick Pottery will take care of the final steps, applying a clear glaze and firing your creation to ensure it’s ready to take home and display.


What to Expect

Skill Level: Beginner-Intermediate friendly (no experience needed)
