Join us for our Annual Summer Open House, now in its 15th year! See over 200 species of native plants—from seasonal forbs, grasses and ferns to native trees, shrubs and vines—in this unique Detroit garden. Every year, regardless of the weather, the native plants thrive, despite the vagaries of the weather and the gardener's schedule, and the wildlife shows up, from numerous butterflies and bees to birds of many feathers. If you're interested in learning more about the beauties and benefits of including native plants on your property, join us!
The tour also features our own garden-inspired art, including items from Black Cat Pottery's ongoing Clearance event; every purchase of Black Cat Pottery designs garners you a free Fairy House! We are also excited to feature plants from Detroit Wildflower Nursery grown by our friend Mitchell Swindell to help plump up your native plant garden as well as fabulous up-and-coming wildlife and landscape artist Brian Fritz, who will be doing some plein air painting in the gardens during the tour as well.
The tour is free and open to the public.
