Environmentalist Bill McKibben will speak to the Friends of the West Roxbury Branch Library and the community about his new book “Here Comes the Sun,” which tells the story of the sudden spike in sun and wind power generation worldwide and the desperate fight of the fossil fuel industry to hold these new powers at bay. McKibben, who is a professor at Middlebury College, a New Yorker columnist, and Substack contributor, reports that energy from the sun and wind is suddenly the cheapest source of power on the planet.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. Copies of the new book may be purchased at the event with cash or check.
McKibben’s presentation is the capstone of the 2025 West Roxbury Reads series, “Climate Solutions,” begun this April.
All Friends events are free and open to the public.
