🤔What is a seabird and what is a shorebird?
➡️Find out on Thursday, August 14 at 1:30 p.m. as Lindsay Tudor, retired shorebird biologist from Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (and, locally, of Tudor Farm & Orchard fame!) gives us an overview of the different species of coastal birds that spend time in Maine. For many of these species Maine’s coastal areas provide critical habitat for nesting, areas for feeding and resting during migration, and wintering habitat. Lindsay will focus on important habitats located on the busy southern beaches between Kittery and Phippsburg and the working waterfronts located in mid and eastern coastal areas. Many of our coastal birds are experiencing severe population declines. She will discuss threats to their habitats and how we can do our part to protect these totally awesome species from further population declines.
