Autumn 6 Week Course

Alongside our regular Classes & Activities, we also run longer 6 week pottery courses in spring and/or autumn which go into more depth, cover a wider range of pottery techniques and include surface decoration and glazing.
They are 2.5 hours per week on a Tuesday evening (6.30-9.00pm) and our max. is 10 people and our min. is 4 people.
After the end of the course we also have a pottery display evening display with some soft drinks/wine & nibbles which friends, partners, husbands, wives, children etc are welcome to come to.
Over the 6 weeks we will cover the following techniques and we will decorate and fire all pottery by the end of the course.
- pinch pots
- coiling
- slab work for tiles and constructing 3D shapes
- using plaster moulds & formers
- making & attaching handles
- extruding & combining extruded shapes
- throwing on the wheel
- decorating with slip (coloured liquid clay) & paint-on/dip glazes
You are welcome to bring in your ideas of things you want to try and make and we will choose which technique might be best to achieve it.
Our Spring course will run from March 4th - April 15th 2025 with an optional display evening on April 22nd 2025 (NB: this is a week longer as we will have to miss the week of April 8th due to prior commitments our side).
Our 6 week courses cost £300 per person which includes 6 x 2.5 hour classes, all materials, glazing, firing & refreshments.
