Human Trafficking by DSVS

Where: Stillwater County Public Library in Columbus, MT
Who: Elizabeth Hickson (Violence Prevention Educator) and Libby Johnson (Co-Director)
What: Domestic and Sexual Violence Services is a nonprofit organization that serves victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, and/or stalking in Carbon or Stillwater Counties. This presentation will give an overview of how DSVS serves the community. The two types of human trafficking are sex trafficking and labor trafficking, and this presentation will explain the difference between the two as well as the highlight scope of these issues in Montana. The presentation will feature a Myths/Facts activity to help participants understand misconceptions of human trafficking. Then, the professionals of DSVS will go over the dynamics of human trafficking including behaviors and actions of traffickers and their victims. Resources and ways to help prevent human trafficking will also be provided.
