Students in Years 3 - 12 have been invited to participate in the annual Goodooga Indigenous Games on Thursday 7th August 2025, hosted by Goodooga Central School.
The day embraces the notion of ‘Bridging the gap’ creating links between city and rural, Aboriginal, and non-Aboriginal past and present, young and old. It is a day of celebrating culture and creating social harmony.
Students and teachers will be divided into groups to participate in sporting activities based on traditional Indigenous games in Australia. Groups are given a score based on teamwork, fairness and scoring the highest points. Although trophies are given to the team scoring the highest points, there is a non-competitive atmosphere.
Goodooga’s previous Indigenous Games Days have attracted students from diverse NSW schools. It is a unique experience for all involved.
