In this new series, Penn Yan Public Library invites the public to step out of their comfort zones and get to know people who may be different from them. We believe that highlighting people of diverse identities strengthens our community by fostering tolerance, understanding, and empathy between people from different backgrounds.
For this session, we welcome Ashly Dumbleton, a student who grew up in Dundee and attends Keuka College, who will share their experience as a Deaf person. We’ll have time for respectful dialogue after her presentation. The library is very grateful to Keuka College for providing ASL interpretation for this event.
