Owatonna: Prisoner of War Camp Presentation

Come to the Steele County History Center on Monday, August 11, to learn more about the Owatonna Prisoner of War Camp from SCHS Board Member, Jerry Ganfield.
Located on the former Thomas Cashman farm, the camp operated between March 1944 and December 1945. During that time, the camp housed more than 200 prisoners from Rommel's Afrika Korps. While in Owatonna, the men worked on farms in Steele County, nurseries, the canning company, and milk production plants.
