Bill savings & resilience: Community electrification in Queenstown

Queenstown homes and businesses pay some of the highest energy prices in the world for imported fossil fuels. They could be saving thousands each year while slashing their emissions and improving energy resilience, by upgrading their gas and petrol machines to electric equivalents that are available today.

Come along to the first community event of the Queenstown Electrification Accelerator (QEA), led by Rewiring Aotearoa. QEA is a collective of projects, partnerships, and community resources dedicated to tackling our region's energy challenges head-on. Weโ€™ll be supporting homeowners, renters, and businesses of Queenstown to help power our economy with cheap, locally made electrons, create local jobs, deliver lower bills, more resilience, warmer homes, and lower emissions.

Doors open at 5:30pm, and talks start at 6pm! We'll wrap up the kลrero and Q&A by 7pm, then you're welcome to stick around and chat.

Come along to:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Hear about what weโ€™ve got planned

๐Ÿ‘‰ Hear stories & learnings from locals who have electrified or are here to help you electrify (including Toni from Kinloch Lodge, Trent from Ziptrek Ecotours, Morgan from Laser Electrical)

๐Ÿ‘‰ Ask questions

๐Ÿ‘‰ Meet other locals who are keen to help make Queenstown the worldโ€™s most electric destination.

This is a free event and part of a locally-led initiative is supported by Destination Queenstown, QLDC, Central Lakes Trust, and Ara Ake.
