Frank J. Tipler, PhD, professor of mathematics and physics at Tulane University, will address “Why Do We Exist?” on Wednesday, August 6, 7 pm, at the East Bank Regional Library (4747 W. Napoleon Avenue in Metairie). According to Dr. Tipler, the Big Bang created more matter than antimatter and we are thankfully the “leftover” from the early matter-antimatter annihilation. Why there was more matter than antimatter has eluded scientists. Dr. Tipler is trying to solve this riddle.
This lecture is sponsored by the Pontchartrain Astronomy Society, a group that meets monthly at the East Bank Regional Library. Non-members are welcome to attend this free event.
