Kyzyl Gul - The Red Rose
Exciting and beautiful music from parts of the Middle East and Central Asia.
We specialize in folkloric as well as spiritual songs including Sufi and romantic poetry translated by one of the band members.
The instruments we play are oud, kanun, clarinet, flute, doumbek, frame drum and riq, with singing in Turkish, Armenian, Uzbek, Kyrgyz and Tajik languages.
Come have a fun as well as a deep spiritual experience!
Bring a lawn chair and hear great music in a beautiful park-like setting. There is no parking in the cemetery; park on the street and walk up the Carriage Road to the Public Square. Be aware that the walk-up is steep. For easier access to the Public Square, people with mobility issues can be dropped off at the south east cemetery entrance at the end of Elinor St. This is a pleasant level walk without much elevation changes.
