Civics & Arts Weekend to Blend Culture and Civic Action in Huntsville, AL
HUNTSVILLE, AL β
July 14, 2025 β
βπΎ Community, culture, and civic engagement come together for Civics & Arts Weekend, a dynamic, two-day experience taking place on August 1-2, 2025 in Huntsville, Alabama. This signature event, hosted by AL Association for the Arts, will use the power of the arts to educate, activate, and unite communities around civic participation and social change.
Through a unique fusion of visual art, spoken word, music, interactive workshops, and civic dialogue, Civics & Arts Weekend creates space for individuals of all backgrounds to be inspired and empowered to act.
βThis is more than an event β itβs a movement rooted in creative expression and community power,β said Jessica Fortune Barker, President, AL Association of the Arts & Organizer of the Civics & Arts Weekend. βWeβre using art as a bridge to civic responsibility β because people engage more deeply when they see themselves reflected in the message.β
