For the first time, Tāmaki Paenga Hira is celebrating Vanuatu Bislama Language Week and for this special event, Vanuatu community members are gathering to showcase their culture.
Come and experience the culture of Vanuatu. Well known for their string bands, the evening opens with Vanuatu rhythms, song and dance, including our very young Vanuatu dancers. Take in a rare opportunity to see some of the communities privately owned artefacts and paintings, each holding a personal connection and story to our community. And join expert weavers who will be demonstrating Vanuatu weaving techniques and inviting our audience to join them.
