Friend of the Devil: Len Dell’Amico on Jerry Garcia & the Grateful Dead

In conversation with music journalist Dean Budnick, Dell’Amico shares stories from his years directing and producing some of the band’s most iconic concert films and videos—from So Far to Hell in a Bucket and the Dead’s first national pay-per-view.

His memoir Friend of the Devil offers a rare, intimate portrait of Jerry Garcia and the band’s artistic world. Budnick, editor-in-chief of Relix, joins the conversation to discuss the enduring impact of Garcia’s music and legacy.
