Saami Brothers Khayal ft. Ustad Naseeruddin Saami

The Saami family, custodians of the Delhi Qawwal Bacha Gharana founded by Sufi poet Amir Khusrau in the 14th century, preserves the pure tradition of Khayal, a vocal style combining Persian, Turkish, Arabic and South Asian elements. They masterfully produce a unique 49-note microtonal scale with minimal words. This evening will feature Ustads Rauf and Urooj, Ahmed Saami on harmonium, and their father, the revered Ustad Naseeruddin Saami, as a special guest, accompanied by sarangi and tabla, showcasing the authentic soundscapes of Khayal for an immersive audience experience.
