A lone New Brunswick woman lies buried with full military honours among the other veterans of the American Civil War. She had fought in that war as a spy, a soldier, and a nurse while disguised as a man. Though her fellow soldiers knew her by her alias Frank Thompson, her real name was Sarah Emma Edmonds.
Andrew MacLean of Backyard History will be giving a talk about Sarah Emma Edmonds and the Dungarvon Whooper on August 7th in Fredericton Junction.
(These are two separate talks; itβs not the war heroine with the famous ghost story! AND dessert will be served in between the two talks!)
π Thursday, August 7, 7 pm
π Gladstone Curling Club (224 Sunbury Dr.), Fredericton Junction, NB
π Tickets: $5 (includes dessert!) Can be bought at the Currie House Museum or via e-transfer to c3doc2N1cnJpZWhvdXNlIHwgZ21haWwgISBjb20=
