QUILTS, WOOL, USE. You were not completely in, but you were not exactly out either. Exhibition on display at the National Wool Museum from 2 August- 2 November.

Step into a world where necessity meets creativity. This new exhibition explores the artistry and sustainability of waggas—quilts made from recycled materials during Australia’s settler, wartime, and Depression eras.

Through garments, performance, and film, RMIT researchers Ricarda Bigolin and Chantal Kirby (D and K) reimagine these modest textiles as powerful expressions of resilience, memory, and working-class women’s lives. Drawing from the National Wool Museum’s archive, the exhibition challenges how fashion is made and valued today.
