Performing Your Poetry In Public

This workshop is for people who have never read in public and those who have but want to improve.
The aim of this workshop is for you to explore your voice, gain practical tips on how to perform/read poetry and to boost your confidence. Don’t worry about having a soft voice, never have read in public before, this relaxed workshop should help you.
Bring along a poem or two that you are thinking about reading (poem length not more than 40 lines). The poems don’t have to be your own.
After the workshop there will be an opportunity to perform your work in public, but this is not compulsory.
Zoe Brooks has been performing poetry in public for over forty years, and who, as a Director of Cheltenham Poetry Festival, has booked and listened to hundreds of poets reading their work. Zoe has taught voice technique and presentation skills to groups as wide-ranging as theatre companies, charities and businesses.
