We had to cancel our June dance, with a focus on Bachata, because of a failed HVAC system. But we were determined that you get to experience the sultry joy of Bachata and be able to get an introductory lesson from a master teacher of this expressive Latin dance with the unique Caribbean rhythms. So we're going to do this again at the August dance.

Ali Ahearn of Rhythm and Shine Dance Studio ( https://www.facebook.com/rhythmandshinedance) is probably the most prominent and well-regarded Bachata teacher in the Triangle Area and she'll get us started with a basic Bachata lesson. Bachata isn't part of the Ballroom Portfolio of dances but it is an exciting and very popular social dance. You'll find that the music is so evocative of a Caribbean island you'll be amazed you're still in Carrboro. It's the music and dance together that transport you to a different time and place.

So join us on Saturday, August 9th, for an introductory Bachata lesson followed by 2+ hours of ballroom dancing with a few extra Bachata songs to complement the 40+ ballroom and social dances that we always play.
