The fishery is closed to the General Public on Mondays, so these sessions are ideal if you’re a little nervous and don’t want others watching.
We will be fly fishing for rainbow trout and brown trout.
What should the lesson be about? That’s up to you. Casting maybe? The most standard format would be a general fishing session with suggestions as we go. Its really flexible though.
Absolute beginners - this is a great starting point if you fancy a go at fly fishing but had no idea where to start.
Please don’t be nervous or worried about making a fool of yourself. Everyone starts with a first step. Its normal to make mistakes and not understand everything. Thats why I’m doing what I’m doing.
Intermediate level anglers may want to bring your own set ups. If you’ve fished before, you may want to improve your casting or concentrate on a specific method, such as dry fly or indicator fishing?
2hrs is an ideal lesson length for kids during school holidays. All children must have an accompanying adult present at all times. Minimum age for fly fishing is 12 years old. For those who are younger, we can bait fish on the Fun Pond.
Shorter Sessions Rules
- Selected dates and times only.
- Must be pre-booked and pre-paid. Don’t turn up without booking please.
- Price includes fishing permit and ALL tackle will be provided at no extra cost.
- Your ticket will be catch and release. If you want to take a trout home to eat, these will be charged extra at £5 per fish. There is no extra charge for lost tackle.
