Greyhope Bay and Rockpool Survival Showdown at Torry Library

Life in rockpools is wild! One minute they’re full of water, the next they’re almost dry… temperature changes a lot… and predators and prey have to live close to each other in a space the size of a puddle! So, all of the animals and plants who live in rockpools have to be super tough and clever to survive. From camouflaged egg cases to sea snails that cling on tight, rockpools are home to all kinds of amazing creatures and adaptations. It’s like a mini underwater world full of surprises, and it’s changing all the time!

Come along to this fun workshop where biologist Abby Meissner will teach you all about how animals and plants survive in rock pools in Scotland. You’ll then get to design your own rock pool animal and test how well your creature survives different challenges in our rock pool survival game!

Session suitable for ages 7-11yrs.
