Plastic City: 10th Anniversary Edition (Hin Between Festival 2025)

Restaged for its 𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 is a reimagined, borderless shadow theatre performance that marks a decade of environmental storytelling. Crafted entirely from upcycled trash and light, it offers no answers but sparks urgent questions through powerful visuals, sound, and movement. Audiences are invited to experience the show from multiple vantage points, including backstage where shadows and stories come to life, as it confronts the planet’s growing waste crisis and humanity’s role in its unraveling.

Created by Plasticity Theatre Troupe, a collective of Malaysian artists founded in 2015 in Penang, 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 reflects the group’s commitment to using art as a medium for ecological advocacy. With a unique approach to contemporary shadow play, Plasticity Theatre Troupe transforms discarded materials into powerful, poetic performances that reimagine waste as both message and medium.
