Charollais are a high yielding meat breed that because of their high meat yields are being preferred by abattoirs when it comes to going over the hooks. They are also one of the easiest breeds to lamb which has made them extremely popular to those having lambing trouble, joining maidens, ewe lambs and merino ewes. Charollais lambs add more meat and less wastage to the carcass of any breed and are suitable to go over any ewe at any age. Their hybrid vigor is outstanding.
White Suffolk are one of the most popular meat breeds In Australia. They are a long bodied breed which can reach high weights and achieve good growth rates. They are an easy lambing breed for a large breed and give the buyer the flexibility to do well both over the hooks and in the marketplace. White Suffolks have clean points which help if grass seeds are an issue.
Both breeds are suitable to all climates and joining conditions including feedlots.
