Meet in the parking lot near the Stow Silver Springs Park playground /50-mile mark pavilion.
We will be setting up the Silver Springs Park area getting runners from the Bike & Hike to the 50-mile finish and back to the Bike & Hike. This will be mainly a hiking activity. Bring a hammer. Note the grass is usually VERY wet, so plan to bring dry shoes and socks!
At the beginning of the session we will review how to course mark. We will try to pair someone new to marking with someone who knows what they are doing - and knows the trails/course. A lot of the time when marking we are hiking, so if you are not running or worried that we’ll be too fast for you, you have nothing to worry about. If we have a large turnout, we will split into small groups and cover as much of the course as we can.
Please bring a light backpack to carry supplies, a hammer, long phillips screwdriver, and a staple gun if you have one. You will also want bug spray, sunscreen, water/sports drink to hydrate, and comfortable hiking/running shoes.
