This is the 10th (and final) play by local playwright Bob Park.
The story:
Taffy now has a local radio station with a morning host for its public affairs program “The Taffy Tattler.” But, there’s a challenge (and possibly a lawsuit) from the people of neighboring Bells Run who believe that “germs” are being spread through the airwaves of the new radio station. A secret plan is put into place to Save The (Taffy) Radio Station (and a mysterious interfering stranger comes to town to help). Meanwhile, Taffy citizens take turns hosting the radio show with varying degrees of expertise and hilarity. There’s a bit of tension about the radio replacing the Taffy Girls’ preference for sharing “news” (gossip) on the telephone Party Line. Taffy folks are also racing the clock to construct a permanent radio studio per FCC regulations. Will the radio station be saved? Will the studio get built in time? And what does the mysterious stranger have to do with any of this? General admission tickets, $20, at Henderson Tourist Commission, ABBA’s Music, The Olive Leaf and Henderson Area Arts Alliance; and at the door.
