AUDITIONS: Sep. 2 & 3, 6 PM

THE PROCESS:

If you've ever toyed with the idea of auditioning for an Old Town Players show, here is everything you need to know! It's so easy! And if you're a little anxious about it, come anyway and see how the process works. Check out the rehearsal schedule, meet other newcomers and veteran performers, and talk with the directors.

Newcomers are welcome and encouraged to try out! You don't need to have any previous acting experience. Each director conducts auditions a little differently but, for the most part, the process is pretty simple. For non-musicals, the good news is that you don't have to prepare anything in advance; just show up! Small groups will be called onto the stage to do readings from the script. This helps the director see how you might fit certain parts and how people interact with each other.

Once the director has selected a cast, notices will be put up on the front door at the theatre, posted on the website and social media pages, and emailed to all persons who auditioned.

REHEARSALS:

Each director may conduct rehearsals a little differently. “Typically,” they run 6-8:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. The frequency of your rehearsals may depend on the type of role you may be cast in.

PERFORMANCES:

Oct. 17-18-19 & 24-25-26
Shows run 2 consecutive weekends, Friday & Saturday at 7 PM EDT, Sunday at 3 PM EDT.
