Tisha B'av: Exploring Sacred Sadness

On the evening of Saturday, August 2nd at 9:15 PM, join fellow members and Portland's own Wandering Minyan in the chapel at TBE for a special candlelit Tisha B'av observance. On Tisha B'av, we sit on the floor as we are able, read the book of Lamentations, and discuss the grief we carry with us as members of the Jewish people. Traditionally, this day marks the destruction of the Temple and other ancient sources of pain-- but this year we will also have the opportunity to name modern sources of pain impacting us spiritually, and share blessings as we move forward from Tisha B'av together. No registration necessary-- please note that as Tisha B'av is a fast day, no snacks will be provided.
