Come catch a special pop-up performance by Aja Haynes, a powerful young artist who stopped us in our tracks at Sunday’s open mic with his raw talent and emotional depth.
Born in Antigua and now calling Kentucky home, Aja’s music is a soulful blend of alternative and folk, woven with melancholic tones and poetic lyrics. Raised by musical parents—his mother a singer and his father a supporter who gifted him his first guitar at 14—Aja was writing songs by the age of 15. His influences range from Otis Redding and Whitney Houston to Radiohead and Coldplay, and that eclectic foundation shines through in his introspective sound and soaring high tenor voice.
Aja is a recent graduate of Berea College with a degree in music and is currently working on his debut EP. His songs are deeply personal, channeling life’s pain, beauty, and complexity into hauntingly beautiful performances.
