Artist-led Sound Hike | Aug. 19

Join us for two artist-led sound hikes on the Ucross Ranch on August 18 and 19.

Confluences is an emplaced sound experience created by Ucrosss artist-alumni Teri Rueb and Laurids Sonne. It is available via a free downloadable app (iOS and Android) that visitors can run on their mobile phones while walking the land. Interactive areas of sound play as visitors wander, revealing a sonic landscape of sounds recorded over three years that include voices of the Ucross community, former artist residents, local residents of Clear Creek Valley, and field recordings taken in different seasons.

During each hike, Teri will walk with visitors on a different private trail on the ranch as interactive areas of sound play, revealing a sonic landscape of sounds. Both hikes will be about two hours; we will meet at the Ucross Art Gallery at 9 a.m. for an introduction and orientation before caravanning to the trails (about two minutes drive).

Mid-way through the hike, Teri will stop for a question-and-answer session.
