Tuesday Talks With Dr. Deborah Liles “Wyatt C. Hendric, the 1910s, the Roaring 20s, and the Depression in Texas”

Join Dr. Liles at the W. K. Gordon Museum on September 9th at 6 pm for a talk on one of the most influential architects of the early 1900s, Wyatt C. Hendrick.

Wyatt C. Hedrick moved to Texas from Virginia and never looked back. After assisting with construction at Love Field, he established Hedrick Construction Company and then became a partner in the prestigious Sanguinet and Statts. As the post war boom evolved into oil and money construction, Hedrick set out on his own. Included in his many projects are the original twelve buildings at Texas Tech University, Will Rogers Coliseum, T&P railroad stations throughout Texas, and the Shamrock Hotel. His place in the evolving landscape of Texas history is written in stone.

A Zoom link is available on request. Contact the museum at 254-968-1886 or Z29yZG9uY2VudGVyIHwgdGFybGV0b24gISBlZHU= for more information.
