Join us as we welcome Dr. Amy K. Milligan, Associate Professor of Jewish Studies, Old Dominion University, Virginia and Matthew Robinson Grey, Acting Superintendent, Tribal Liaison, Horseshoe Bend National Military Park for the second program in our year long Elmore County 250th celebration.

Matthew Robinson Grey will provide a brief presentation exploring the Muskogee (Creek) Nation's presence and legacy in Alabama, offering cultural and historical context that intersects with the life of Abraham Mordecai.

Our main speaker, Dr. Amy Milligan will discuss the life of Abraham Mordecai (circa 1755–1850), a Jewish trader, Revolutionary War veteran, and early settler whose life intersected with Native American nations, westward expansion, and the founding of Alabama communities.

This event is free and open to the community.
