T-6 Thunder Airshow at James J. Hill Days

Look toward the sky just before the James J. Hill Days parade to see the T-6 Thunder Airshow! You’ll certainly hear these special WWII Planes flying by Downtown Wayzata. The T-6 Thunder planes are 1940-era aircraft. They were used as advanced trainers in WWII, Forward AIR controllers in the Korean War, and used in Cambodia during the Vietnam War. They were used by 22 countries worldwide. Chuck’s aircraft spent 30 years in the Spanish Air Force. Of the over 22,000 built only about 200 are left flying.

These pilots have over 100 years of combined flight experience and have been performing together for over 20 years. All maneuvers are done at speeds of 150+ mph and fly as close as 6 feet.

Special thank you to our Flyover Sponsors UPS Store Wayzata & Colonial Square.
