Benefit for Linda Chandler Duvall

On Easter Sunday our world was flipped upside down. Our mom, Linda Chandler Duvall, was rushed to the hospital because of an unknown illness that had literally knocked her down, unable to even sit up in bed. Thankfully the doctor at Navarro immediately came in and got to work. After examining her he ordered a chest xray thinking she had a bad case of pneumonia or possible COPD. Within an hour he came back with the results. Results we could’ve never prepared ourselves for. They found a large mass on her left lung pressing against her pulmonary artery and a few smaller ones throughout both lungs. Although he couldn’t confirm, he was certain it was cancer. My heart stopped when he said those words. They immediately transported her to Arlington where they would do more test, scans, and a biopsy of the lung mass. Within a couple of days we learned that it was in fact lung cancer that had metastasized and spread to her brain. Once the neurosurgeon got the ok, he rushed her to surgery to remove the largest tumor on the backside of her brain because it was causing severe swelling. A few weeks later she had a PET scan done to determine exactly where the cancer had invaded and what stage it’s in. Sadly, it was determined to be stage 4 but “luckily”, it’s only on both lungs and her brain. Although, it is not curable, the doctors are hopeful they can manage it. She has already done 3 rounds of targeted radiation on the 4 remaining brain tumors and last week she started aggressive chemotherapy mixed with immunotherapy. This is going to be a very long and challenging journey but we are strong believers in God and know the power of prayer. We ask for continued prayers for her mental wellbeing, her physical health, and most importantly a miracle. During this time we ask for patience when reaching out to her She’s still taking it all in, in and out of doctor appointments and sometimes just doesn’t have the energy to talk about it.
As you can imagine this has also put a financial strain on her. She has been out of work for the past year because of her health and now with the recent diagnosis and the decision to fight this battle it has become very expensive. All of her appointments are in the DFW area so lots of travel back and forth and sometimes hotel stays. The hospital and doctor office bills have started rolling in and become very overwhelming for her. With this being said, we have put together a fundraiser to help raise money for her medical and personal needs. If you know my mom, you know she is NOT the one to ever ask for help but always the first one to lend a hand when someone else needs her. So, if you’re able please come out and support my mother and have a little fun while doing so. All the prayers and any donations are greatly appreciated! 🤍
