Michael is no stranger to the Drill Hall stage. The first ten-minute-long incarnation of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓’𝒔 π‘¬π’…π’ˆπ’† won the Audience vote award at the 2010 𝑯𝒐𝒕 𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒔 Festival. Michael has won the award for Best Script at 𝑯𝒐𝒕 𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒔 four times for 𝑻𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒂 π‘΅π’–π’π’π’Šπ’–π’”, 𝑻𝒉𝒆 π‘©π’Šπ’ˆ 𝑢𝒏𝒆, π‘­π’π’Šπ’ˆπ’‰π’• and 𝑻𝒉𝒆 π‘Ίπ’‚π’Žπ’† π‘·π’‚π’ˆπ’†. He was shortlisted for the Sydney Theatre Company Patrick White Playwriting Award for 𝑰𝒏 π‘»π’‰π’Šπ’” π‘Ύπ’‚π’Œπ’Šπ’π’ˆ 𝑯𝒐𝒖𝒓 and 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓’𝒔 π‘¬π’…π’ˆπ’† was recently shortlisted for the international C.S Lewis Playwriting Award.

For Dream Run Theatre Company, Michael has won the Gold Coast Theatre Award for Best Actor for 𝑫𝒐𝒖𝒃𝒕 and 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒁𝒐𝒐 π‘Ίπ’•π’π’“π’š and the Best Director Award for 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒁𝒐𝒐 π‘Ίπ’•π’π’“π’š. This production was also nominated for the Best Community Theatre Production.

Leading the cast of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓’𝒔 π‘¬π’…π’ˆπ’† will be the highly respected and renowned actors, Catherine Feldmann and Gregory Aitken playing Sarah and Daniel Lawrence.

Sarah Lawrence has dementia. During one of her husband’s visits, she reveals something that will have profound effects on him and their son’s lives. Highly influenced by the Samuel Taylor Coleridge quote, β€œwhat comes from the heart goes to the heart”, the production explores the depth of guilt, loss, forgiveness and compassion. It is a play about finding light in dark places and in the power of love to both transcend and restore memories.

The powerhouse ensemble of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓’𝒔 π‘¬π’…π’ˆπ’† includes Yasir Assam and Sierra Freeman with live music performed by Maureen Lill. The evocative lighting, sound and film design is crafted by the talents of Sunita Bailey, Alex Benham and Hielrick Fidele d’Amour.
