Step back in time and experience Dickinson County's pioneering history through the authentic voices of the Howe family. This moving reader's theater brings to life the personal letters of Orlando and Maria Howe, early settlers who witnessed the Spirit Lake Massacre and other formative events in our region's history.
NEW for 2025: The production now includes the compelling firsthand account of their daughter Linnie, offering a unique child's perspective of life in Spirit Lake's earliest days.
Originally discovered at the Dickinson County Museum in 2023 by volunteer Kathy McNeill, these rare letters have been adapted into an emotionally powerful performance that captivates audiences with honest, personal glimpses into pioneer life.
Join us for an unforgettable evening of living history. This is more than a performance—it's a tribute to the voices that helped shape our community.
