Our August 7th guest speaker will be aviation historian Raymond Fordyce.
A veteran, Ray went to West Point, is a pilot and is the author of numerous published articles and speaks around the country on military and aviation-related topics. Ray also was a historical/technical advisor to the recent Steven Spielberg/Tom Hanks TV series, “Masters of the Air.” He currently serves as Chairman of the Cobb County Civil Service Board.
His presentation is entitled, “Target: The Third Reich.” The talk describes the experiences and sacrifices of wartime aviators of The Greatest Generation, centering on what bomber missions entailed, the opposition encountered and the extraordinary challenges faced by the men who flew them. It features many unique, one-of-a-kind visuals.
This presentation is open to the public and free.
It will be held at Acworth's Historic Rosenwald School (4410 Cherokee Street, Acworth, GA 30101) Light refreshments will be provided.
