As we have seen in all the cultures we have studied so far, the Gujarat area of India used natural materials as beads for millennia, and incorporated glass beads when they were imported in the 19th century. The two main forms of using beads show up in bead knitting or netting, particularly the 3-bead netting technique.
This week we will be making a 3-bead netted panel of an elephant. This little panel is the perfect size for a keychain, larger pendant, or make 2 and connect them to create an amulet bag.
Our sample used:
- 11° seed beads in 7 colors
- Swivel trigger keychain
