Stop 4: Toulouse 🇫🇷
Free concert
Basilica de Saint-Sernin
Monday 28th July, 7:00pm
Our fourth stop is at the Basilica of Saint-Sernin in Toulouse. This magnificent building sits on the site of a 4th century basilica that held the body of Saint Saturnin (Sernin), who was Toulouse’s first bishop. Today, the church is revered for the quality and quantity of its Romanesque sculpture.
Our programme will be a rich collection of sacred works by composers all the way from Parsons (b. 1530) to Rutter (b. 1945). Famous pieces like ‘O Clap Your Hands’, ‘Beati Quorum Via’, and ‘Remember Not, Lord, Our Offences’ sit alongside little-known and unrecorded works to shape an exciting and varied programme through the centuries.
This concert is free – no tickets are required. There will be a retiring collection.
