The Metropolitan Arts Council is proud to present "As I See It", a solo exhibition by Greenville artist Lu Wixon.
This visually rich collection celebrates the landscapes of the Carolinas—interpreted through Wixon’s distinct style. Each piece reflects her deep appreciation for the natural world of our local area and her renewed gratitude for the ability to see and paint it.
As Wixon shares:
“Recently, I had an issue with my eyes that threatened my ability to see and paint. Fortunately, with the aid of an excellent medical team and modern chemistry, my vision is restored. Never have I been so thankful to see and celebrate the beauty of our surroundings through painting. This exhibit is made up of paintings of the Carolinas.....as I see it.”
"As I See It" honors the quiet magic of familiar places—forests, fields, skies—and to the artist’s personal journey back to sight and her connection with the land. Meet Lu on Thursday, July 24 from 6 - 8 PM, and see the Carolinas through a renewed lens!
